Hi reader reader
We have noticed that at some point over the past 3 years you signed up for the Ryandale Newsletter. If we have sent this in error please accept our apologies and click unsubscribe below.
We are in the process of upgrading our site and with it, initiating our first newsletter. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who you feel may be interested in Ryandale.
The first order of business is to bring you up-to-date on the changes we have experienced as an organization.
The period 2016-2017 represented a time of considerable change in the history of Ryandale. What began some twenty-five years earlier as a shelter for the homeless has taken a new shape. There are 2 aspects to this: the closure of Ryandale Shelter for the Homeless, and the continuation of Ryandale Transition House.

Here are a couple of links that you might find helpful that were reported at the time we closed the Shelter.
Ryandale Transition House has continued to operate on Victoria Street, with accommodation for seven clients. One part-time staff member oversees the operation of this property, with particular attention to the “transition” aspects. It is the express purpose of the Board that we operate much more than a rooming house. The intention continues to be that clients will receive life skills to enable them to move on to more permanent housing and employment, with stability in their lives.
The Board is focusing on the possibility of expanding operations within a transition housing framework.
With the closure of our Shelter Operation, Ryandale is no longer eligible to receive funding from the City of Kingston. While we have always relied on and have greatly appreciated those who have and continue to donate to us, our need is even greater than in past years. As you consider your year-end charity portfolio or really, at any other time of the year, we would be grateful if you would consider making a donation to Ryandale.
You may always send a cheque to us, payable to Ryandale Shelter for the Homeless (our registered charity name) to 669 Victoria St., Kingston, ON, K7K 4S6 or perhaps the easiest way is to click below to connect directly to our account at Canada Helps, our fundraising partner. In either case you will receive our gratitude and, of course, a tax receipt.
